I have come to the conclusion that I find myself in more sticky situations than the average person...firm believer in this. And on top of that most of those sticky situations are awkward moments, too. Prime example, earlier this week I found myself in a sticky mess that I am not too proud of.
I received an email from one of my ministerial classes with my current grade and what I need to make on the exam. While my grade is a B+, that would satisfy most people, but I am not satisfied in that. So he told me that if I wanted to make an A in his course I needed to pull a near 100 on the final exam...or...I could keep my B by at least making a 26! Ummm..major difference between a 100 and a 26. At first I was excited since I wouldn't really have to study for his exam but then I was convicted that just making a 26 or above is not giving my best nor glorifying the Lord. If I had studied properly on his other test, then I would not find myself in this sticky academic dilemma. However, I did not do such.
So in my self-made stickiness, I am going to give it my all on this exam and do my best for a 100. Not only am I doing so to help pull up my grade in Civil War [which is another story in itself] or because the teacher deserves my best but mainly because I am commanded to give it my all.
"So whether you eat or drink or [study] or [take exams] or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of G0d."-1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether I pull out an A in the class by a near perfect test score or not, my studying and test taking should be done in such a manner than it brings glory to the name of the L0rd.
Bring it on, finals!!
